Terms of Service
Written in English, Polish and Russian. If the versions differ, the Polish version applies.
Who you are dealing with
Desorb is run by a private individual in Poland. It is not a registered company. Contact: legal@desorb.app. In these terms, "we" means that person.
What Desorb does
Desorb is a Windows app. It finds your own old content on platforms you connect, shows it to you, and removes what you confirm. It uses your existing session or the platform's own sign-in.
What "remove" means depends on the platform. Dev.to articles are turned back into drafts, and Instagram items are archived. The app shows you what will happen before you confirm.
Accepting these terms
By installing or using Desorb, or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. You must be at least 16.
Your content, your responsibility
Use Desorb only on accounts and content that are yours or that you are allowed to manage. You confirm each cleanup before it runs.
Deletion is permanent. Desorb cannot restore anything it removes. Archive first writes a local copy and is on by default. The archive is your backup, and keeping it safe is up to you.
Platform rules and account risk
Each platform sets its own rules. Bulk deletion and automation can trigger limits, suspensions or bans. Desorb slows down when a platform asks it to, but it cannot remove the risk.
For Discord in particular: Discord's terms do not allow automating user accounts, and Discord can restrict accounts that do. Several other platforms need you to register your own developer app. We are not affiliated with any platform.
You decide whether to run a cleanup, and you accept this risk when you do.
Your Desorb account
An account is optional. The local features work without one. Some features, such as the free Discord allowance and licensed platforms, need an account.
Your account code is the only way in. We store only a hash of it, so we cannot recover or reset it. Keep it safe. If you lose it, the account is lost.
License and Lifetime access
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Desorb for your own accounts. We keep all rights in the software.
Lifetime means for as long as Desorb is maintained and distributed. Updates in that time are included. If we stop maintaining Desorb, we will say so on this website.
Free version and price
The free version has limits, shown in the pricing section of the website. Desorb is not on sale yet. The final price and what it includes will be shown to you before you pay, with taxes included where the law requires.
What you must not do
- Use Desorb on accounts or content you have no right to manage.
- Share, sell, rent or resell your license, or get around license checks.
- Reverse engineer the software, except where the law allows it.
- Use Desorb to break the law or someone else's rights.
Refunds and your right to withdraw
Within 14 days of buying, you can ask for a refund if you have not run a deletion, or if Desorb does not work on your PC and we cannot fix it. Write to legal@desorb.app with your account code.
EU consumers also have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. For digital content, that right can end once you start using it, if you agreed to that and acknowledged it. Checkout will tell you before you pay.
Updates and availability
We update Desorb to fix problems and keep up with platforms. Platforms change their rules and technology without notice, and a feature may stop working or be removed. We try to keep Desorb available but cannot promise it will always run without interruption.
Warranty and liability
Your statutory rights for faulty digital content stay in place and nothing here limits them. Beyond that, Desorb is provided as is. We do not promise that a cleanup will find or remove every item, or that a platform will not act on your account.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Where the law allows, our total liability for a claim is limited to the price you paid. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for intent or for personal injury.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by uninstalling Desorb, and you can delete your account yourself on your account page. We can end a license or suspend an account if you seriously break these terms, for example by selling or sharing your license. We will tell you why.
Governing law and disputes
Polish law applies. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Polish courts have jurisdiction, and as a consumer you may also bring a claim in the courts of your own country.
Please write to legal@desorb.app first. We will try to solve the problem with you. Consumers can also turn to the Polish consumer authorities, such as UOKiK, or a consumer organisation in their own country.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will say so on the website and update the date at the top. A change that makes things worse for you in a material way applies only after we have given notice, and you can end your use of Desorb before it does.
